Weixler was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and began acting in high school. She went on to study acting at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she graduated with a BFA.
In 2007, Weixler starred in the horror film Teeth, which earned her a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance. She has since appeared in a number of independent films, including The Lie, A Bag of Hammers, and The Discoverer.
In addition to her film work, Weixler has also appeared in a number of television series, including The Good Wife, The Exes, and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. She is also a frequent collaborator with the theater company The Debate Society, appearing in several of their productions.
