Jennie Silfverhjelm (1843-1913) was a Swedish-born American author and journalist. She was born in Stockholm, and moved to the United States in 1869. She wrote for several newspapers and magazines, and was a frequent contributor to the Swedish-American newspaper Hemlandet. She was also the author of several books, including the novel The Swede in America (1881) and the memoir My Life in Two Hemispheres (1903). Silfverhjelm was a strong advocate for education and women's rights, and was a member of the National American Woman Suffrage Association. Her work was highly influential in both Sweden and the United States, and she is remembered as one of the most important figures in Swedish-American history.
