Dagny Backer Johnsen (1891-1977) was a Norwegian politician, journalist, and women's rights activist. She was a leading figure in the Norwegian women's movement, and was the first woman to be elected to the Storting in 1921. Johnsen was a strong advocate for women's rights, and was instrumental in the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment in Norway in 1930. She was also a vocal supporter of the United Nations, and campaigned for international disarmament. In her later years, Johnsen was active in the peace movement, and wrote extensively on the subject.
