Charles Spradling (1925-2012) was an American actor, director, and producer. He was born in Oklahoma and studied at the Pasadena Playhouse. He began his career in the 1950s and appeared in numerous television shows, films, and stage productions. Spradling had a long and successful career in Hollywood, appearing in films such as The Wild Bunch, The Great Santini, and The Rose. He also directed films such as The Man Who Fell to Earth and The Driver. He was a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Spradling was also a prolific producer, producing films such as The Big Chill and The Natural. He received two Emmy nominations for his producing work. Spradling's work was widely praised and he was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 1995.
