Ana Maria Munoz is a Colombian artist, curator and art historian. Born in Bogota in 1961, she studied art history and archeology at the Universidad de Los Andes and pursued a Masters in Art History at the University of Essex. She has been an active participant in the Latin American art scene since the mid-1990s. She has curated numerous exhibitions in Colombia, the United States, and Europe, and her work has been exhibited in numerous international galleries and museums. Munoz has written extensively on contemporary art and has published several books on the subject. Her work is characterized by a focus on the relationship between art, culture and history, and she is particularly interested in the intersection of traditional and modern art practices. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the National Arts Council of Colombia in 2012.
